On the subject of getting vaccinated even if you already had COVID….

Thanks for that link, interesting read and pretty much what my understanding was with regards to the immune response & the Delta variant. At least with what we know thus far.

No problem, I was reading a bit of this thread before work this morning, and on the drive to the office I heard NPR mention this article and I knew I had to find and post it here considering recent discussions.

I'm afraid that last link by Rocksor Rocksor required a sign up membership. At least it did for me. Not a biggie, but yeah, the Delta variant appears to be more aggressive variant for sure.

At work it appears that a non vaccinated staff member that didn't know they were sick (later tested positive for Delta) showed up at work, passed it along to a fully vaccinated (Pfizer x 2 in Jan/Feb) resident, that has a seriously compromised immune system. Hopefully the resident survives the ordeal, and hopefully it got contained early enough. Outbreaks are never a good time, but the Delta variant has raised the stakes to a level never seen in the buildings where I work.

Well crap about the link, it was from the default stocks app on my iphone. I was able to read it from there.

the thing I found interesting is how Delta has a mutation at position 681 (P681R) on its spike protein, allowing it destroy cells faster than the previous variants. It also mentions related Kappa variants also having this mutation.
