How long for bio-spira to work?

My water feels slimey, Is this normal?

uhhh no!! What does your water test? I am going to assume that your bio spira died to an overdose of ammonia.

Doesnt feel slimy anymore.

Tested at

Ammonia - 2ppm
NitrIte - 1 ppm
NitrAte- 10-15 ppm

has your nitrate spiked yet? once it does and goes back down the fun begins

Do you mean nitrIte or nitrAte. I think you mean nitrIte. And it has slowly been going up.

Ammonia 1ppm
NitrIte 2ppm
NitrAte 40ppm


How long before the nitrItes go down? My lfs is having a big sale this weekend will it be done by sunday? Somehow I doubt it.

do a waterchange, just don't touch the gravel or filters. it should be 0 real soon
