thats awesome... so many people take years before they will attempt a s/w tank..

Its kinda funny... 2 christmases ago i had gotten a crapload of Bday and christmas money (my Bday is 11 days from christmas) and my stepdad just asked me if i wanted a sw tank. Of course i said yes and we got a used setup from our friend (he owns justphish.com and lives a half hour away from us). He sold us our live rock right from his tank and we got some free zoanthids which are still alive.

I have been fish keeping for 20 years pretty good since I'm 25. I have an extensive knowledge but there is always more to learn.

My parents had fish tanks since well before I was born (‘74)…

I got my own first tank when I was 8 (‘82)….

I had at least one tank, usually several, until college (‘94)… At that point I gave my tanks to my parents who still have at least one of them going…

I started keeping fish again in 2000...

Have had at least a few hundred gallons since then until now (‘09)…

So total of 21 years… out of the last 27...

can you remember your tank when you were 2 years old.. just curious.. i know that would have been facinating for me when i was a baby.
Haha, calling it a "tank" is pretty generous. It only held like 12-16 oz. I kind of remember it. I have a picture of myself looking really closely at him in his little hex cup. I actually still have it. I use it to prime my HOB filters when I restart them :D

Next time I take pictures of my new 150, I'll put my first "tank" in the picture too for comparison:ROFL:

Parents and grandparents have always had tanks, but nothing big. One of my friends who lives near me had a set up with an aro and poly, and I watched them a couple times, and I was bought.

This was about April of this year. I quickly got a 20 gallon set up, ran it about a month, then I needed more. In June I got a 55 and 10 gallon. My 55 has some monsters to be (dat, polys), and the 10 has 2 dwarf puffers.

Lastly, I am currently building a 120. It still needs a few more coats of seal, then I can install the glass.

Talk about jumping into fishkeeping. Keep in mind that im 16, play sports year round, and get straight As in hs, and am in an engineering course that is college level.

Wish me luck. :D
