How many Oscars in a 240? Stocking suggestions?

Yeah I haven't really seen any bashing except for the one guy who suggested PBass instead but he didn't really do any bashing so.....


anyway, OP I don't have any experience with tanks of this size, but this is a very cool idea. I'm searching for a 125 for my Oscar right now and have always wondered what a "school" of Oscars would look like in a big big tank. Did you raise the two that you currently have in your 125 and if so how big did they both get? I wouldn't mind getting another

I will admit some of us might have been a little overly sensitive. But it looked like it was starting to go that way. The O threads often do.
 
I raised my two in a 90, then switched to a 125, and now a 240. The tiger is 10" at a year old the albino is 12" at a year and a half.

I went with 6 oscars in the end, plus my parrot and female Dempsey. I also added some giant danios as dithers.

I added some driftwood and rock work, but I'm not 100% done with the aquascape yet.

Picture of the tank now. Notice my 10" tiger is schooling with the 4 newbies already.

Forgive the temporary lighting. Rigging the canopy with LEDs tomorrow.
 
That tank looks great shoot a vid whem you get a chance.

Some of you guys are way too sensitive just because some one suggested pbass doesnt mean he was bashing

I think you could get 2 more and then get a large pleco like a rhino pleco and that would look amazing.

I love oscars I think ur tank will look great with a few albino oscars and a few blacks!! U could prob fit 6-8, I saved my oscar from Walmart after seeing him in a Betta cup after I flipped they gave me him for free lol

Almost every one of my oscars are rescues. I went to every petsmart in the area yesterday and found oscars with ich and HITH that they were "treating" in the back. I did splurge and buy a solid black one who was healthy. My two large ones right now were babies who were almost flushed because they were in such a rough shape.
