how many people have divorced parents?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Mine divorced when I was 11ish. Mom slept with my dad's best friend. And my mother seemed to just kind of snap. She has never been the same since. It happens to all the women on my mom's side so I'm just waiting for me to go crazy too.

Why is it so hard to accept?Unfortunately it is a part of life and in the end just another one of lifes expieriences some have to go through. To me,the ability to talk about it shows one has dealt with the experience and is more than likely stronger for it.:)

When did I say it was hard to accept? Or even imply/allude to that?

All I said was that I was surprised by how many were so open about their parents divorce. Like I said, I've got my own story, I just don't talk about it because it's a scar from the past and I personally prefer to leave it in the past. :)

I've dealt with it; just don't talk about it is all. Again, that's just my personal way of moving on. :)

My parents divorced 3 years ago after being married for 28 years. My Dad was unfaithful and has since married the woman he was cheating with.
He expects me and my sisters to accept our new "mommy" with open arms.
I DONT THINK SO!!!!
Anyhow, enough about my ranting over my messed up family.
lol. about the accept mommy with open arms

My parents might get a divorce but I doubt it. My dad always is on the computer and never pays and attention to us. My mom left him for six weeks when I was a baby. But they got back together. But my mom is getting tired of my dad.

my parents were D'd when i was twoish. my dad was truely a low class person. but, i choose not to hate him because it makes me a different person. if it were not for my mother i would probably of died or been in juvie and jail all my life. my dad is really not good enough to be called a dad. thankgod for my mom

Just had to make a depressing thread huh?

yep, my parents are also divorced, and reason? Too different for each other.

They needed it.

My parents divorced when I was 2, and I haven't had any contact with my father since. It's not a big loss considering he's such a screw-up. He has 5 kids with 4 women, and doesn't pay any child support, has never held a job for longer than 6 months, and last I heard he was in jail again.

My parents divorced when I was 5 or 6...don't know the reason why.
