Sooo i emailed a guy about a 300g tank...And im praying to god that it is still available...How many people would i need to lift this bad boy? its an 8footer, 2 feet wide.

Im already acting as if its a done deal so when he says its available i can jump right on it.

6 guys average sized guys not kids that weigh 150 lbs. If its glass its heavy. I had a 300 the same size and moved it a few times 3 of us are very built guys that work out and we still busted our ass when it comes to moving around doors and steps.

Dimensions:
96*24*30

Surface area:
96*30*2 + 24*30*2 + 96*24 = 66 sq. ft

Assuming 3/4 inch glass (9.84 lb / sq. ft):
9.84*66 = 647 lb

So assuming it is constructed from 3/4" glass and it has plastic trim (glass trim would add weight) it would weigh around 650 lbs....

Burt :)

ok so 6 people seems to be the magic number...hopefully the guy whose tank it is will also help put it in my truck.

i dont know about 6 people. me and a buddy easily moved a 240g glass 8x2x2. i'd say 4 would be more than enough.

if you and your buddies looks like this, then plan on 12-14 people

I agree ^^
My son and myself, moved my 125 gallon and we broke a very, very heavy sweat. I'd think that 300 gallons would be a serious challenge.
