how much does a 300g tank weigh?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
it will most likely be going in my basement...so no i am not worried about the floor...if i can for some reason not fit it down the stairwell...it will go on the first floor...which i will make sure i put it on a large beam..or something...its a 2 foot tank and my stairwell is 2 and a half feet wide...so im praying it will be an snug fit lol

I'm going through what you are going through right now. Simple answer: Industrial size caution sups. I'm going to be moving a 175g soon and I will need to use these. It will be a bit hard b/c the tank is cube shape. You can rent or buy them. Call around.

I'd say 6 at the most, but probably not that many. I've moved a 300 w/ just 4 people total and it had a steel frame. Moved a 150 w/ 3/4" glass from outside in the yard to inside on the stand by myself. Took me a while, but I did it, lol...

When I bought my (glass) 265, it took two people to lift it. A Puerto Rican dude, about 250 pounds, decently built, and an smaller guy who was in the air force, so he was pretty built.

So I would say 4 people should definitely be enough, long as they arnt 15 year olds.

I have a 200 gal (7'x2'x2') and it weighs about 450lbs. I have moved this tank 3 times, once with 3 people and twice with four people. It was a struggle with 3 people. Luckily, it was only 15 ft from my truck to where the tank was going inside the house. With 4 people it was a lot easier, still wasn't that easy, but better than 3 people. Going through doors is the biggest pain, because two people can't go thru the door while holding the tank at the same time.

If I had two extra people, I would have them on the other side of the door to get the tank when the people in front of the tank reach the door. Then the people who just handed off would then get the tank from the people in the back when they get to the door. Highly suggest 6 people minimum. (A pic from moving the tank for the 3rd time)
