How to deal with a pet death

My beloved female betta died last night. I was really upset to find her lying on the bottom of the tank. So I went out and bought 3 celestial pearl danios and 2 Gertrude's rainbowfish. I don't know what I'll do when my gecko dies though. He's probably going to live for 10 more years though....

finally some closeure if you know what i mean....I might get a tortoise, pet for life lol

So sorry Princess and DP, losing a pet of any kind is awful.
I don't know how I will even handle it when my little dog goes.
I was very down when Dymin, my 5 year old betta, died.

i guess it would really depend on what pet.
i was heart broken when my 18 and 17 year old dogs died.
it took me months to get over.
but when i lost a fish that i hadnt kept for long,i just went out and bought something else....
time is how i get over any death...

its not wrong to want another, im naturally impulsive and understand the cycle of life, so pet death usually doesnt bother me too much. its not that im cold or anything, i mean i do get upset, but hey what am i going to do? the past happened and i cant do anything about it. i avoid getting the same pet so as not to be reminded by my past one

Im very sorry for your loss.

I havent really had any loss to get over in my life..... other than fish..... it upsets me. But i havent lost say a person close to me in many, many years. Not old enough to have really.
