Im very sorry for your loss.

I havent really had any loss to get over in my life..... other than fish..... it upsets me. But i havent lost say a person close to me in many, many years. Not old enough to have really.
you're very lucky :(

its a completely different story with people, especially family

i've had no family deaths either, i'm completely rubbish with death. I didn't bury Charlie today because i thought i saw him breath....i keep looking at him.

I've had family relatives die, and it really hurts!

Oh I hate when that happens. When we put our shepherd down my eyes kept playing tricks on me..

Wow... I've lost so many friends and family, it's odd to hear of someone who hasn't.

Please do put up a thread if you decide to adopt another.

oh i will deffo, i feel if i got another i'd treasure it even more than Charlie.
I buried him today ....about an hour ago i'm going to but a plant to mark the grave thought that would be a nice idea.

I got really angry before i think its because i feel empty ( aqua sanctuary got the brunt of it on msn lol ) but now i'm in a peaceful mood i think because i have closure of his death.

This is an appropriate thread for last night's event. My brand new male Gertrude's Rainbowfish died. He was just starting to show his full colors too. I was planning on breeding the little guys too.

And now for a more humorous tale;
One of my dad's old colleagues had this really hyper Jack Russell terrier. Well, she came home from work one day and found it lying on the floor not breathing. She buried it in the back yard, certain that he was dead.
She wakes up the next morning, goes to the kitchen, and sees the same dog pawing at the glass and jumping up and down to get inside and lick her. She buried the dog alive and he dug himself out!!!! That has to be the only time you can say your dog has died more than once.

lol thats why i made sure Charlie had died! I was so scared that i might bury him alive......

i'm sorry your fish keeping isn't going to plan

Putting something that will grow every year to mark your pet's life is a nice thing.
I do it, it's very lovely to see something grow from your love and care in place of your lost friend.
Our old GSD has a dogwood, I believe, and when his mate goes, she'll have a cherry willow, since she was so sweet and loving.

I just try to pick something that will remind me of them.
Mo's has his old collar and name on it.

I have a rule to never buy the same pet twice, as I will end up comparing.
Worst deaths:
Stripey, the first fish I ever had, killed everything else in the tank.
Kronos, my black molly who killed and ate a fish twice his size and once drew my blood with a bite.
My Ottoiniclus cat, was my first fish that died when i was responsibly fishkeeping
My platy Fitsgerald, don't know how he died
My granny's dog, Spencer, who had to be put down.

Now i'm all depressed....

Sorry about your hamster,I have one as well, his cage is right next to the computer. Its always sad when a pet dies but I always get a new one.Not looking to replace, its just that theres room in my life for a certain number of pets so I kind of want to give one a home if I can.Same with dogs and cats.I always remember the ones Ive lost though.
