just my opinion starve your self for a week and tell me how you feel

Shouldn't compare humans to fish.

fish are living just like humans just because they can't speak and tell you when they're hungry or sick doesn't mean they aren't starve your infant child and lets see the result I'm not getting extreme with my examples just doing it to set an example read my post my opinion thanks though buddy for your expert advice!

Sorry, but IMO that is a bad argument. Wasn't trying to upset you just don't compare humans to fish.

says who? I'm not upset -end-

well considering ive seen fish go on feeding strikes for about a month and are perfectly healthy.. 1 week shouldnt be a problem at all.

there is no comparison between infants or humans and fish.... wow

just an example logically speaking

no i understand what your trying to prove.. but infants.... lol. a liiitttlllleee different.

but fish can go a month without eating.. they chose to do it all the time. 1 week for them is like us going 1 day withouth a meal. i did it last week with my cichla

Considering mouthbrooding cichlids go one to two weeks without food every time they breed, if your Cichla are healthy and well fed, a week won't be a problem.

a lot different it was the spur of the moment lol:ROFL:back to cichla idk if some diferent species of cichla are different then others but my monos and orinos have a real big appetite but if you really have to a week without food would be fine but i would again put extra feeders in the tank just for your guilty conscious sake:D

i left feeders in the tank that was about meal size not bite size so go with bigger feeders that will fill them up and you should be good, besides if your cichla is on the bigger size they can live with not being feed for 2 days or so!

HMMMMMM....... IMO, bad idea to put feeders in your TANK, while your gone for a week.... REASON...: cichla tend to EAT and EAT... greedy lil bast***'s!!!
and if you put enough or alot of feeders in youre tank. because you wanna make sure it will last until you come back from vacation, and for some reason 1,2, or 3 of your CiChLA decide to EAT to MUCH that they can HANDLE... what happens next... (if you wanna compare HUMANS, INFANTS & FISH ) for example what do you HUMANS do if they eat to MUCH that they cant handle..... you get NATIOUS and then SICK........ & then THROW UP!!!
so imagine what undigested feeders do to your water when THROWN UP... HMMMMMMM...... SPIKES in all AREAS of WATER PURITY... and for a WEEK...? what if this happens the secound day of his vacation and he has NO CLUE of whats going on with his PRIZED CICHLA...... RESULTING IN DEATH WHEN HE COMES HOME WITH SMELLY STAGNANT WATER.....:(

JUST my 2PENNYS... and an EXPIERIENCE that happened to me... but i caught it before any FATALITIES.... SO... GOOD LUCK....:D
