So either the jacks were starting to eat the baby HRPs or they were dying, either way I pulled the remaining fry from the 90g and moved them into the 33g.

I believe there are 11 remaining

Mom and dad are already diggin another pit and dancing for each other.

Mine are doing the same thing inside the coconut this time. Still got like 20 fry all around the tank, about 1/4 now or so.

Batch number 2 are free swimming now, there’s about 50 of them.

Thinking my HRPs might be mixed with convicts. Today I pulled about 70-80 week old fry out and there’s still 20-30 remaining with the parents, that seems like a large batch for HRPs bc I’m always reading HRPs have small spawns between 20-50...mine def blew that out of the water with this batch of fry...

I was sorta thinking this with how yours always wore them full bars, where I have not seen full bars on mine.

Yea that wants a red flag for me bc I’ve seen lots of pictures on google of HRPs with full stripes...but the fry batch size is my big red flag...still nice fish, just disappointing

That's funny, my pair gets rowdy on water change days as well.
