When I went down in June, I ended up catching a nice sized 18 in pleco-snagged it, and fished out a 2ft gar (not sure if its a fl or spotted or what) but anyways if you plan on putting them in your tank let me warn you that both of these had fish lice and what looked like leeches on them!

Did you see/catch any PB when you came down?

oh yea, on my second to last day! I caught 3... 1 male and 2 female, also on the trip (2) 2ft gar, lots of mayans, (3) 3-3.5ft barracuda all on a 4.5ft trout rod with 10lb braided line! boy the fight those barracuda put up on that little rod was amazing!!! can't wait till next may!!!

As for the guy who asked how featherbacks taste, I'll answer it for you. Their meat is the same texture as catfish but its doesnt taste as good. Better off just releasing them.

They hardly hunt fish, more crustacean eating than anything else. It is actually the other way around, I have seen peacock and LMB trying to hunt the Sh fry while the parents are guarding.
Any fish that can hit another fish and cut it in half is a threat it does not matter if thats rare it still can happen. Bass and other native fish eat crustaceans as well so these fish take away food.

my 15 inch clownknife give me a big fight when i move him to another thanks i wonder what that guy did holy crap he is huge and at first it did look photoshopped, after seeing the other pics of the other CK's i am starting to think its real

Oh man I love this thread... all I mostly catch around here is mayans and bass. Caught a Pbass once though only... Trying to catch oscars though, anyone know a good spot near Boca Raton?

Actually I caught a few 15 inchers with hand.
Just sneak up on them in shallow water and grab their tail and hold on hard lol. It's easier when they are inside their caves gauding eggs. Just make sure to return them to the same spot. Also, it's hard getting them to bite on hook and line.
Just because I caught a pleco with cucumber doesn't mean you will.
I've tried it before on them with little success.
--------------

Its been to hot to fish lately as 100 plus at 11 am has gotten real old real fast lol but its cooling now due to storms so might go this weekend.

I know some areas they bite some they dont the one's around here dont bite . I have seen lots cute baby plecos by my brother in laws house .
Nothing fancy but neat to see.
