Not trying to joke but sounds like a stroke. I dono if rays can get that though

I thought the exact same thing but didnt want to say it incase you thought i was having a cruel laugh at your expense but no its what it sounds like!

if you look closely you can see the white near the tail i was talking about.

Also it looks as if his eyes are a little cloudy. And the front of his head a little white.

if his disc looks milky white along the edges etc it could be a bacterial infection of thats the case....... :(

what are your water parameters? No fibbing here post the results

most likely a result of shipping/importation, It sometimes takes a week or 2 until u see the damage.

check ur water b4 u start dumping meds in and post the results

i will have to go and pick up a test kit, i haven't tested water in years.

My tank is cycled well, been set up for years. It is just a 55 grow out..But these rays are tiny.. I have a 5" mantilla/motoro in the tank too and she is doing great and eating well.
I have been doing 10 gallon waterchages daily and a 50% yesterday. I think i will do another today. I have a fluval 304 and a 350gph biowheel HOB. My tenp is about 83-84.

i see some white where the disc and the tail meet and his eyes are a little cloudy.

i personally have never had a problem with blackworms i have been going through a pound a week for a couple years and my rays dont have parasites from them i would do like john rare says my hystrix is eating blackworms and has some of the thingss your talking about but i havent treated yet i will if i see something as stated
these ratys just came in give them a little time to settle

no offense I have definately see more rays pass through my tanks fresh from the wild than 99 percent of ray keepers....I have seen many a ray break down after import and recognize the signs....If you dont see parasites dont treat for em unless the ray is wasting away....all fish have a parasite load and healthy fish can live a perfectly healthy life with them.

Im thinking your ray is suffering from its recent shipping across the country as well as a recent import with no acclimation time in between..I have had alot of success treating these haze problems with Binox but I would hesistate to reccomend anything to you without seeing the rays in person etc... first thing u need is water parameter check.... also some salt wouldnt hurt
