Can you post a link to RD probiotic? My filters looks way dirtier than that in six months.

Is this the same probiotic found in hikari bio gold + pellets?
http://www.hikariusa.com/diets/cichlidbiogoldplus/

The link is the first sticky in "Freshwater disease and health issues forum"

Not the same probiotic, RD's thread will have a good explanation

Wow, no kidding. My fx5 filters only start to look that good after 5 minutes of rinsing.
Absolutely will have to check RD's thread.
O

My FX 5 is typically mud when I open it

Septobac is a Spector tank product correct?

This is really interesting. As long as the bacteria don't pose a threat to the fish, it's a great way to keep the filters cleaner.

It is actually a septic tank product not at all marketed for aquarium use. The US equivalent is RidX

thats because we're swapping out the socks soo frequently debris doesnt build up. I still dose modt of the tanks though.

Another benefit is not having to clean the substrate or gravel vac. Waste breaks up and gets sucked into the sump/filters

When i was using cans...the probiotic was a life saver

That is how I am feeling about it now.

That is great stuff! Thanks for sharing

Thanks to RD for posting the thread.

Any reason to believe this would help with my Panaque waste? It's like sawdust in the filter.

In theory it should but i didnt notice a big impact with pleco waste.

Burbotman Burbotman just wondering if you are still using SeptoBac, and if so how often, and how much do you use?

I think that your pics are worth a thousand words!
