I feel sorry for the dead kid's family. The three hoods deserve everything they get.

I'm going to have to disagree with you there. I definitely feel sorry for the dead kid, who didn't deserve any of this, his family, and loved ones. All three of the other kids are guilty of armed robbery. No question. However, only one bullet was fired, and only one moron pulled the trigger. The other two shouldn't be responsible for their idiot friend's poor decision. Maybe an accessory, but thats about it IME. I'm also on the fence as to how I feel about them being tried as adults, too. On one hand this was a very violent crime, and they should pay for it. On the other hand, well, legally, they AREN'T adults yet. And for those that will say that 17 is close enough, well, I'm sure you've heard the horseshoe and hand grenades analogy before. Kind of seems like another example of the system manipulating the rules to work in their favor.

Now, don't think I'm defending these losers, I'm not. An innocent person is dead, and they should rot. However, I'm tired of seeing these cops, prosecutors, etc do whatever they want because they can get away with it. Are all three of these guys guilty of murder? IMO, not really. But who's going to argue it?

I agree

You may be able to make the case that 2 of them didn't pull the trigger, but what did they "accidentally" rob him?

There is a HUGE difference between a robbery charge and a murder charge, though.

In Georgia I think 16 and over is considered a adult when it comes to crimes like this. The thing is they went with intent to cause the dead guy harm. Yes they didnt pull the trigger but they facilitated this, by not stopping the shooter, or by actually robbing the guy. Either way they are going to be an accessory to murder. They thought they could be thugs and now these "thugs" get to go to jail and join some real thugs.

we must be on the same page cause I have to agree yet again.

I love in the article when Jordan's mom made sure to say her son was going to write a letter to make sure they know he didn't do anything violent.....even if he didn't pull the trigger he stole $600 and two cell phones. Idiots

To say that they went there with the intent to harm is speculation. All that is obvious is that they went there with the intent to collect an undeserved $200 each. Things spiraled out of control, and one of them ended up killing an innocent person. The way the story read, they are all being charged as if they all made that decision. While they all were there to get their cut of the $600, only one killed someone. An accessory, I can see. What's that, like 20 years? Sure, they deserve that. Should they all be facing the possibility of life because their friend was a moron? I think that is a stretch.

I have always heard that if someone is killed in the process of committing a felony (like armed robbery) then all parties involved in the crime are charged with the death. I don't know if this always applies, but I believe so.

The fact is they all were a party to the death of that kid and should all be held accountable.

Do you think they were all equally responsible? If so, what is the point of even having an accessory to murder charge if they are just going to use murder 1 every time?
