Out of how many total people dropped out of high school? Where are the rest of the numbers? You should compare these numbers to the amount of college graduates that now make millions of dollars. I bet you anything, that number is higher. These comments can give the wrong idea to those that do not know better.
I will never tell you that it is impossible to do what you want and be successful without going to college. To say so would be very far from the truth. I will tell you, that I have worked in both worlds, owning/operating a business and working in a corporate environment. There are ups and downs to each of them.
Working for yourself:
This is practically a 24hr a day job. You are a slave to the business that you would like to operate. Keep in mind, education or not, you had better know what you are doing. It is not a simple task to achieve. Those with high levels of perseverance, can and will make it happen. For some, this is way out of their league.
Working for the man:
This is a job that can be just as much of a pain as working for yourself at times. The added bonus with this is that you can walk away from your job and leave it there. I go to work, do my job and then go home and do what I want to do when I get there.
Either or these options give you the ability to make good money. There are ups and downs to doing both. It is up to the individual to make the decision for themselves.
For those that complain about their "corporate" job about how it is bad and they should follow the sheeple; You must have been in the wrong job. If you hated your job that much, you should look for something else. Starting your own business is not the only option. I have been in numerous positions within my current company and in others. There were some I liked, and some I didn't. Having my experience and degrees has allowed me to move around and find the job that suits my needs.
Myself, I have absolutely no interest in starting my own business. At least, in the near future. I would rather find a job that I like, put in my hours and go home. Sole proprietorships are not always what they are made out to be. Living paycheck to paycheck is not my idea of a great time. It is far too stressful for me.
