You cant see it but he/she has some greenish/bluish colors on her anal and dorsal fins

both have lots of blue on the lower cheek area so both are females. (but better pics would help)

okay thanks guys sorry for my crap pics

the fish above if for shere a female 100% any pics of the other one try and get some dithers you'll need them if your breeding jds anyway

I am not seeing the amount of blue on the cheeks on the first fish. Compare the two. I would say you have a pair.

Both are female. I'm also basing my opinion on the gill plates. Normally, the blue extends all the way down on the female. See the photo below of my pair. Male in front:

wow nice fish i love the color of the female did it devolope over time or did it allways have the color on its sides

If ur doing that many water changes and its still cloudy then do these two things. 1 add algea tablits cause u may have floating algea u cant see. 2 get new carbon. carbon is ur best friend for cloudy water. as far as oil goes im not sure. i use to have red belly ps. and gave them a chicken wing after i was done with it and it gave the same appearence so i stopped but im sure in ur situation it has nothing to do with chicken wings.lol
