Here's a link to the jag X dovii.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yGvp8wOiHVo

Certainly looks to be that....then again tough to be certain, with out seeing the parents with fry. IMO the fish does have more resemblence to a dovii, though jag characteristsics do seem to be present. That's one opinion:D On a side note, the fish has the spot at the base of the pectorial fin....like a jag or dovii.
This is a perfect example of misidentification I believe. Both fish in the video appear to be dovii and not a hybrid at all.

There's a local breeder/supplier here that openly breeds a LOT of random hybrid stuff. Not sure how uncommon it really is to see hybrids, I think a lot of it depends on what area you live in and where the fish are coming from.

I know I posted this fish awhile back, but I got alot of different id's on my thread. I bought it as a mota, but I've had lots of folks say it's either a Loisellei or a hybrid of some sort. Ironically, she seems to be attempting to mate with my male Jack dempsey. lol........and he seems willing

Still dont really have a positive id but I think it's Loisellei. Could be wrong too thou......

while i dont have a positive ID on this guy. I would say hes a parachromis hybrid of some sort with a carpinte
That kind looks like whats thought to be one of the naturally occurring hybrids: Herichthys labridens 'Media Luna' and H. carpinte 'Rio Verde'.

I see NO parachromis in that fish at all. Maybe some Vieja though...if its not the aforementioned.

heres some pics of Mo's Media Lunas

and some older pics of the 'Rio Verde'

Took a second look at that video and I believe I was wrong. I do see some jag in there with the red eye, fin shape and mottling pattern.
