it is my fish and it is deff that gold it has no red in her what so ever ....the first pic is with flash the 2nd is without
This is why web IDs are difficult as most people (myself included) don't have the best camaras. There are so many varriants in CA cichlids that a lot of people are quick to say a fish is a hybrid. The fact is that most people guess at web IDs. You really need to have an expert like Dr. Loiselle to give the proper ID. He has seen many CA cichlids from different locations.
I am very against the whole hybrid thing, because many CA cichlids are losing habitat and some going extinct. If we keep creating hybrids, then a whole sp. can be whiped out completely. The hobby has helped conservation, but it can also hurt it. Look at livebarers for example. It is very difficult to buy wild swordtails, platies, guppies, and mollies in the hobby and in some cases in the wild. It seems only Europeans really understand this.
