Red Devil are definetly quick growers, both of mine doubled in size in months, water changes and night crawlers (occasionally) and they will grow quickly.

Is he in that 55 by himself.

no live plants! when mine was 8in he would move all the gravel on one side so there would be about a centimeter of gravel and on the other about 4-5in!
but if you can get the orange and red ones! IMO look much better! and look more aggresive!
but yea a 55 is too small! a 65 should be minimum but 75 is better!

I figure the bigger he gets the plants and gravle will be phased out....and impo a 55 is ample room its a long so hell be able to swim. And even though i was able to sneak the 100 past my girl I payed for it with my own money. I have a 2000 budget to upgrade I will probably get a used 300 and pimp it out! so either way my fish will always get proper space, hes 1.5" and has a 55 to himself. That would be like me having an airplane hanger for a game room! lol. hes cool!
