I want a red devil!!!

She loves it in there and has been in there for almost a year. I put her in with a male Red Devil to see if I could get them to breed and she didn't last ten minutes with him. He has to be kept all alone. He is mean as fire.

Bottom line is they are all different but some can be calm and not really agressive but that is definatly not the norm.

yes they are all different and also once again it has alot to do with who they grow up with{although they can suddenly change} and also the size of the tank.. i grew my baby RDS up with the african cichlids and they were happy }all of them too} but i took them out because they out grew everyone else and the tank was only a 75gal. There are some sweet devils..;)
 
when i get my devil on thur next week 3rd he will be a lil baby I am torn on exactly what to do with everyone will my big big con who is the most peacefull fish i have ever had be o.k with parrots and africans or the oscars? i'm not to concerned with room the o's are only three inches. jd is small also hmmmmm i'm sure its equally risky either way. I am willing to give a 1 inch baby its own 55 buuuuut if there is some combo that he would do o.k in I almost would rather grow him out a lil with some mates in there. I want him to be real mean though so if iso will be better for his territorial aggression thats what i'll do.
 
Get a big school of tetras or danios, they will make him feel secure and he will be much less shy. As he gets bigger he will eat them and then you don't have to worry about them anymore.

I agree with liz. Good to do your research before dropping some fish in.
 
Go with longer tank.They grow about 1" per moth with good food and water changes.Texas,Rt,Jag and moto will be okay for a while but in that size tank i would say alone when larger.
