yea, i just went and looked at him and amazingly he looks so much better then when i took him home, he has all these teeth marks on him which are slowly healing, im happy to see its doing better

Thats a good deed.
I miss mine. He got 30" before he died. Some will eat other fish and some won't as mine never did. He would just suck them in his mouth and spit the back out to get them away from HIS cave.

He is awesome.. good luck with him

this guy is about 13" i think he should be about 15" with his tail, im still stumped as to why he has no tail as in my pictures, the tail looks like someone cut it off.

thank you all for looking at my thread, i will update as his healing progresses.

Probably got bit off when he was little and now its just healed over. These guys can get to be monster catfish both in size and appetite!

well i've been feeding him shrimp, as with my oscar and he doesn't quite eat it, well not while im in the room. i've noticed some shrimp dissapear momonts after i leave. but when im in the room watching from a-far, he only hits it, doesn't eat it, picks it up and drops it. so i've been trying once daily to get him to eat and each day he progresses in his appetite i do believe. i hope.

Have you offered any sinking pellets? Also, since it sounds like they came from a pretty neglected home, these guys might need a good round of internal parasite medication.

definitly a channel, they can eat A LOT when they have a better appetite. they will eat almost anything

As for the tail, I agree with the theory of being bitten at a young age. I dont think this ailment will impair him much at all, these cats are tanks

if the tail begins to hinder his swimming ability just get a really small flipper and slide it over, like a prostetic fin ;)

I noticed that my bullhead isnt really too fond of shrimp either. He hits it but doesnt seem to really want it. He loves pellets though.
