i picked this little guy at a small pet store, the fish looks like crap so i aim to hel it the best i can. its about 15" and its tail was severed, man or nature i don't know, but it still swims like a champ and looks good. it came in with another oscar that looked like it was intended as a fighting fish. it litterally looks like crap!
he's definately a channel. maybe a couple yrs old. was he from the wild? poor guy looks rough but these fish are extremely tough. nice of you to take him in.

thanks, as soon as i get the room, im going to set up a 300 gallon stock tank as a catfish pond, and then as soon as i get the right know how on building water tight boxes, im going to build a large 1000-1500 gallon tank. my mom is also planning on a 1000 gallon salt water tank, so the tanks would go together around the same time, so this catfish will be gradually getting happier and happier, as his tank space grow.

here are a couple new pics of him, he has gotten a little nick on his nub from who knows what, but looks so much better!

the pics are kind of bad as im still getting used to the camera, but i hope you gan see him.

Glad to hear he is eating for you! I'm sure he would probably love some pellets too. The sooner he gets used to these the better IMO since they have the vitamins and calorie make up he needs. Plus it has the wonderful bonus for you of being cheaper and more convenient than tons of shrimp. As, he gets larger this becomes more and more important for you and your wallet. :D

well recently i found a place that has beefheart, i was amazed as i only have two pets stores near me, and the one that only has like 4 tanks is the one that has the good food and stuff. at any rate, the cat has started eating beefheart as well so he is getting a nice vartiety of foods, and in about a week i will be getting some massivore, will that work?

He will not only love you, he might get out of the tank and kiss you! I feed a mix of massivore and sinking cichild pellets as the later is less expensive. The combination is a major winner with my cats and they are so healthy.

yea, i know. i saw the pics of your cats and they look like african cichlids at walmart following you around the tank. i am hoping i can get a couple more cats and get a bigger tank, but right now im working on nursing this cat back to health as much as possible. my catfish are my pride and joy, right next to my geo's and my scomb, big list, but all my fish mean alot to me.
