Thank you! I appreciate that.I caught a ton convict/Texas with a dip net. I'll take some pictures later so you can see the similarities. Only real difference between mine and the pic you posted are the fins.
They are beautiful and when I come across a really exceptional individual I will make some calls to see if I can find a place for it but its rare that my local connections have a spot. More rarely, I will get something like RTC or Shovel nose and Im just not equiped to deal with a fish their size on a long term (especially now that I'm having to rebuild all my in ground ponds). I do try to find a place for them but often come up empty. I hate that part of this hobby.Omg he’s stinking adorable! You won’t have any problems re-homing him...
Sucks that you have to euthanize fish bc of people’s lack of taking responsibility, poor fish.
On the bright side at least you save them from a life of suffering and mistreatments by having the heart to euthanize. My heart hurts for you, commons are beautiful imo

So this guy was on the porch this afternoon when I got up. He was in a Styrofoam cooler wrapped in duct tape. About 10in long (eye ballin it) Don't know a dam thing about him. (Other than its a chiclid... I'm only a little bit dumb)
Got him in a 60g quarentine right now and started on the QT basics. The water was really cold by the time I found him and he was just laying on his side for a while. Seems to be more comfortable now.
