it could be a shad family member or quillback/ carp sucker but idk if u even get those down there
 
it's not an american shad. The snout shape is wrong.

It looks sort of like the European bream, Abramis brama. (I hope it's not!)

The first picture you posted is how they act around here. They love crusing along the marina walls. The only other time I see them is when I'm leaving the marina I'll see a smallmouth bass attack a school at the surface. They don't seem to be caught by the fisherman around here. I have never caught one, but I know that they are sometimes caught by hook and line. What did you catch them on?
