Ideas for new fish room please!!!!!!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Heating the whole room is really the only way to go.

Also may I suggest doing some LARGE DIY tanks in there. I had a fish room once and let me say that one or two LARGE tanks is much more rewarding and satisfying than a bunch of smaller tanks. Easier to maintain too.

I have thought about heating the lot but the electricity cost would sky rocket through the roof, any suggestions on how to do that without the huge bills coming through the door?

yeah, large DIY is the way forward i must say, i will only have a few small tanks for grow outs or quarantine tanks, also the smaller breeds of fish that are available

Here are some potenital issues that you might not have considered, does the Garage have water installed already? And is there drainage?

Trust me when I say that I have also been egar to put a fish room in places and forgot to think about those things...That said... The fish rooms are all in the house and attached to the house water and drains and not in the Big shed out back... Yet

very good point and your right i didnt consider it, as there is a door to the side of the garage leading straight to the garden it wouldnt really be a problem to sort these issues out, for water changes i have a siphon with a huge hose attached to it, about 12' long so theres the drainage sorted as for the tap i could use the same effect as the kitchen is right next to the garage also so i could get a tap kit and run it straight from there.

all these comments are very helpfull, keep em coming guys im all ears or is it eyes

BTW i like the way you say yet

Another note boss, you should go with 'green board drywall' not the normal stuff. This stuff is moisture-resistant, not proof(they use it in bathrooms), normal drywall is moisture-sucking. With your weather proof paint, you'll be mold-free!
