Ideas For South American Community Tank

^out of those, only SD's work with neons, cardinals or GNTs.
 
I have 2 South American tanks:

72g bow w/ oscar and 4 SD

15g w/ otos and blood fin tetras. I may get some corries and a dwarf cichlid. Not sure what kind of dwarf yet.

What about guppies?
 
DUDE HOW ABOUT SOME GOLDEN RAMS AND YES SOME TETRAS. YA I LIKE THOSE SMALL FISH YOU GOT IN THERE. MY MOM CALLS THEM RACE CARS, CUZ IT LOOKS LIKE THERE RACING ACROSS MY TANK. KEEP US POSTED AFTER YOU FINISH STOCKING
 
I'm going to take a look at the new stock tomorrow and I'll let you guys know what I pick up. I'm pretty sure the next will be some cardinal tetras. I'm now torn between dwarf acaras and keyholes. I don't want to run into territory issues too much though. I figure once I grow these plants out a bit more and add another piece of driftwood, I can manage 3 pairs of dwarf cichlids. Since I already have 2 pairs of rams it's a hard choice what the last pair should be....

Generally SD's do not mix well with plants.


Do you have any Bushynose plecos in there?

I also like Adolfoi Cories.

Rummy nosed tetras are great, they cost less and they are hardier then Cardinals. If you wanted a larger Tet, Congos are nice, especially when full grown, but pricey.
 
No plecos yet. So far I have 2 pairs of blue rams and 12 rummy-noses. I think I will add 12 Cardinals today(they are one of my wifes favorites). I want to over stock this one but I haven't decided with what yet. I would like another pair of some kind of dwarf and some other colorful little guys. I never thought of congos though....good idea
 
i would defo get a bushynose pleco,some corys,red eyed tetras,black skirt tetras some barbs rosys are some of my favourites
