This is a new catfish that my LFS just got in for sale. There is no name on the aquarium except “Catfish-NFS (ask employee for details)” Can anyone identify it?
PS: If you don’t notice it, there is a very pronounced circular black dot right before the start of the tail.

I swear I've seen that catfish before, I wanna say something like brazilian flathead catfish?

Yes, this looks pretty much identical to it. It is definitely some sort of Shovel head/nose, I have found another example here: https://www.aqua-imports.com/shop/product/burmese-shovelnose-catfish-sperata-acicularis/
So in fact it is some sort of sperata Catfish.
Thank you for all of your help, wish I had a big enough tank to keep it (as they get 40 inches long or bigger) I would need a pond, but right now I am not in the position to make one.:arapaimag

It does appear to be a Sperata sp. at first glance, but I don't see any nasal barbels. That and the adipose doesn't quite have the right shape. The snout is also rather short for Sperata. My guess would have to be Megalonema platycephalum.
a very nice find IMO

Wow!!! When I look that up, it looks identical to the one in the fish store, even more than the ones previously seen earlier in the thread. Now is it true they only get 1’ (12 inches or 30 centimeters) long?

I believe so? I have never kept them so I cannot say for sure. However if there's anyone that might know for sure it'd probably be thebiggerthebetter thebiggerthebetter
