JohnPTC has a dovii pair with the male topping out at around 32" I'd say - they own an entire corner of the tank from what I've seen in his 10,000 gallon - with many many other large aggressive species in there. That's the only community dovii I've seen.

This was the first example that came to mind. I've been doing a lot of research lately on a community dovii for my tank. I am waiting on a local LFS to get some in so I can pick out the best possible personality to suit my needs. They are supposed to be getting a shipment of "high quality" males around 5" from a breeder in Florida. I could go with Rapps and get an awesome looking fish. But, I would have no clue as to it's social disposition.
no dovii's ever around here. largest parachromis around here are jag's which are plentiful but i think there is someone breeding them around here in my town because usually you cant find em that simple and there was about a total of 60 juvies at my lfs i was like lemme get 2!
The problem will be(if it happens) after he has settled in. Other cichlids can snap just like a Dovii, though the difference with Dovii is that they have the potential to dispose of tank mates quickly should they feel the need. Best of luck though.
