I collect mine in safe areas of the semi-wild and feed them whole. The dirt inside them should be suitable for consumption. If it's not, I say the worm isn't either.

It is, I should have been more clear. I only do that (Squeeze dirt out) if I am going to tear them into pieces. It helps because there is less mess when tearing apart. If I feed whole they get it all, dirt included.

im not calling you a bunny hugger or anything, but the worms don't feel the pain.

Earthworms have pain receptors ( (just like humans :) ) They feel pain :(

As for the OP, just throw the worms into the tank, they'll gobble them up.

Yes, but,
When you entice a Predator
with the freshly exposed entrails of something they love to eat,
you get to see the lightning fast thought process/strike, they are capable of
with deadly accuracy...
cool stuff IMO...
Fishes are badasses of the water.

Does anything squirt out if use scissors?

I seriously feel bad just cutting it up.
I tried slicing it with a knife and it just looked at me with it lil face like it was in pain

run them under the hottest water temperature on your tap, it should kill them pretty fast, then afterwards cut em

If you drop the worms into a bucket of clean water they should purge themselves within a half hour. Makes less mess in the aquarium. Also you can drop them in whole and the fish will figure out how to eat them. Like Zennzzo said they have been doing it forever.

Haha sorry I'm making californians look like panzys :p
But I've never been a bug killer.
When I was little I always tried saving bugs, guess some of that still stuck with me

As for the worms not feeling pain, I know they do. Everything with a complex system feels pain.

And I'm getting two types of people here, those who share my views, and those who just "squeeze" the life out of the worms

It's day two, So I'm going to buy scissors or a razor blade and just slice them, I'll also put some in the freezer just to preserve them

WARNING: May Contain Biology

Actually Earthworms are a type Oligocelamate, not Arthropods like Insects.....
And yes there are two types of people
