In-ground Pool soon to be a POND!!!

I got the filter going but didnt have time to finish it. I need some more media to add to it. Still looking into a UV i have to figure something out to fight the green from coming back. I only put about 2ft of water in the deepest point and i put the barrel in the pool. As i build more have time to add plants i will slowly add more water and put the barrels side the pond and not in it.
How many barrels do u think i should run?
I would like to add some monsters but i want to be able to see them so i will have to wait and make sure i can keep it clean.
Going plant hunting this weekend hopefully will get some wild platies and mollies too. I have a bunch of jaguar fry i might add some of them and see how they do.

Is the pool in a leni (screened patio)?
Could you use a heavier shade cloth drapped over the structure to limit sunlight?

muske - yeah it is a typical pool screen patio. i actually hadn't thought about that but great idea i will have to check into that. i need to replace some side parts any ways cause the dogs ran through a couple of spots.
u ever see how ppl have those saltwater pools? i always wanted to see it turned into a pond..this idea was always on my mind but didnt think anyone would do it good luck with it man cant wait to see it finished
