Incompatable tankmates that will never work. But do anyway (?).

I have a 12g at work with a young TexasxConvict hybrid and a Florida Flag Fish (a type of killifish) . . . the Tex/Con stays a the bottom, sifting gravel and the flag fish stays at the top, eating algae of the plants . . . once in a while they will swim together, but no fighting at all

the tank is too small, the fish should be incompatible, but for some reason it works

I have a tank with three different species of puffers as well as a ADF and a platinum half beak, and some ghost shrimp, never once a quarrel.

Red devil and african cichlid... one of my crazy combos that has worked for many years...

my first tank had the following:
3 bala sharks
6 neons
3 glowlight tetras
3 tiger barbs
2 pictus catfish
4 serpea tetras
3 harlequin rasboras
6 zebra danios
1 leopard danio
1 clown knife
3-9 platies
1 guppy
1 dragon goby
1 sailfin pleco
1 chocolate albino pleco
and numerous others i cant remember. and it all worked out for years, with an undersized filter and a superly oversized airstone. no hiding places, except one that the plecos could go in but no one else could. a ton of fake plants, and i fed them only flakes and algea disks. i love my cichlids too but i will post that setup l8r...

OK here is a good one that may make you scratch your head.
-4 6" RBP
-6 3" black mollies
-18 black skirt tetras
-1 4" clown loach
-1 8" pleco

the piranha will destroy anything that goes into the tank now, but havent touched the other fish in the 4 months ive had them. and this is in a 55g
(mollies and tetras were to cycle the tank and become feeders when i got my RBP)

wow, sure would hate being those other fish... they just never know when the ax will fall.... i hope it continues..but i really don't think so..

At the shop we have a Red Devil that we put some small convicts in with, since someone dropped off around 200 and we had no where close to enough room for them. He's eaten all but one, which hangs out near the bottom with some pvc. The devil has stopped chasing him at this point and even lets him swim pretty close. At home I have a Fahaka puffer in a tank with a rosie, a leftover from one of my tanks cycling. I figured Pazuzu would snap him right up as a treat, but he's still there, nibbling off of the chopped shrimp and mussels.

Salt water guppy?
It was a feeder but lived well over a year, at my old work.

ANd Idk if this counts but
RD and con's all the time (2 tanks of em)

and 8-9 in CK with 1-2" Blue gouramis

IDK what people say works, I say try it, but I don't allow murder. Only predation
