I drop in a submersible pond pump(Home Depot) drain out the window. Put pump into a filled barrel and start refilling with dechlorinated water.
so you can keep dechlorinated water in a barrel and it will still be fine to use a week later?

Yep, should be fine. I'd recommend covering it while it sits so it doesn't fill up with particles.

Does the chlorinated water run through your wet dry tower ?

That would spell disaster for the filter media killing all the BBs.

No, I just place it on top of the w/d and the hose end sticks out beyond the w/d and the water flows down right smack into the outflow drop of the w/d. Around a 6 ft drop I guess.

so nothing will grow in it or anything?

No. Nothing grows in mine. I use a $11, black, 50 gallon rubber maid trash bin to store water for Weeks. So it ages a bit and chlorine dissipates via natural evaporation. I use a cover like Krawnik suggested, to eliminate dust and particles.

Finally got some pics. I let the water age next to the tank for 24 hours and allow the spraybar to lay in the water with the powerhead running overnight to age / de gas the water. Then when the tanks drained I attach the spraybar to the side of tank and turn on powerhead. Works great and the spraybar is pretty cool to me to help any residuals dissipate.

my bathroom is beside my bedroom so that helps. i just have a hose siphoning water into the toilet then i take the end in the toilet and attaching it to my 200gph pump and put it in a garbage can full of declorinated water that is in the shower and turn it on. i want to get a bigger pump and a bigger garbage can so i can do bigger water changes faster

Forgot to mention I also treat with prime to be safe.

I drain my tanks using a 3/4" ID clear tube that drains into my sump pump pit.

I use an old 75G tank as a holding tank. I installed hot & cold faucets next to the tank; it fills up in five minutes. I premix Prime and aerate the water for at least an hour before using it.

Water is pumped out via a 550GHP garden pump. I use this set up for the four fish tanks in the basement.
