in all honesty, watching a fish tank has been shown to be quite good for your health, it has a calming effect and lowers your heart rate:)

Until the $10 one starts beating on the $300 one, and all the stores are closed and you have no way to seperate them. :D

YES!!! apparently when the parents and girlfriend say do what ever the F.... you want doesn’t mean go out and buy another tank!

but seriously you never heard of the MTS? or even worse MMTS???
MTS=multiple tank syndrome
MMTS= multiple monster tank syndrome

the most common disease to humans caused by fish seems to be brokealoticus.

I actually got sick from cycling my 55gal. I was using ammonia to cycle it and got really sick cause of it. Had to stay in the hospital for 3 weeks. I don't do fishless cycle anymore lol.

I think it could be dangerous for smaller pets if you had snakeheads or walking catfish and they jumped out looking for a meal.

Or maybe a piranha that bites the heater cord while your gravel vaccing and then you get electrocuted.

Or if you have the tank near your bed the smaller fish that jump could jump into your mouth and then you can't breathe.

Thats the only scenarios I can think of.

1. Granuloma from Mycobacteriosis sp. that affects the fish. This will happen if you are in contact with affected fish while your skin is injured.

2. Some aquatic creatures have venomous glands and spines. A few to mention are blue ringed octopus and lionfish.

3. Some fish have serrated spines that may cause serious injuries. Stingrays, loaches and several catfishes are prime examples.

4. Electric shock. Most electric fish may deliver a powerful shock that could be dangerous even to their owners.

5. Aquarium equipments. Old and torn equipments may cause electrocution and even cause fires and other serious damages if not attended to immediately.

The most dangerous thing that can happen is when a tank in your bedroom cracks and leaks through the floor and into the living room downstairs. I literally thought my mom was going to kill me. I just simply told her that it wasn't leaking when I went to bed so it wasn't my fault.

I'm sure the study that was done, did NOT have a predatory tank of Monsters as the control tank...Watching my Big Cats sizing up my Dats to eat only raises my Blood Pressure...Having A trio of 13" Silvers suddenly flip out and make the top water boil in an instant, will make you crap yourself...

Sometime watching Monsters, is as scary as watching Monsters...:naughty:
