Shouldn't need new glass unless it is cracked. If it leaks, it will just need new silicone.
I agree. I also say go for it!

what are you going to do with the fish in your current tank while you reseal the new one and build a stand?

PS. Personally, I wouldnt trade, I would just buy it and keep them both.

i know a guy that had his 75 and 55 resealed by someone for $75 for both. just ask around if you dont trust yourself doing it. everyone is looking for a way to make $20 these days.

One other note;

usually i would say resealing is a cinch. But at 3' deep, only 22" wide, and all that bracing on top, that thing is going to be a P.I.T.A. to reseal. you may spend only $10 on silicone and masking tape but it may take a good chunk of th day to do it right.

I have two tanks a 135 and the 225. all my fish are in the 135 and i'm keeping that tank. the 225 has nothing it but gravel and 1/8-1/4 of water still in it,I could get all drained out in to the 135.

I didn't say I could do it over night, I plan to make it a project.
I have all the fish in the 135 and there is space so it not like I would have to find a place for the fish well building and setting up the 410.

I agree that is usually the case. For a custom tank I would question the reason why it began leaking in the first place. It could be that there is not a sufficient cross section at the bottom piece to get enough silicone to adhere the front to the bottom to prevent the front from bowing.... or back, or whatever the case may be.

Just some thing to think about and maybe take a look at.
