Is my tank stingray-compatible?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
So if I feed my stingray, let's say, four or five times a week, will I be able to keep it for two or three years? And what is the size of an adult P. motoro anyway? I've read many different accounts, but since you are all stingray keepers, I'd really like to hear your opinion.

Ive never had a full grown one, so someone will have to answer that question as to how big they can get..
four or five time a week is not enough. Once a day at the least when feeding your ray is ok. Twice a day is best for the ray.. Remeber, if you want to keep it alive and healthy, good feeding is a must along with a good tank set up and care

Adult Motoro can easily be over 2' in diameter.

I don't think your tank is big enough even for a growing pup - and stunting a ray's growth by underfeeding it doesn't sound like the best approach.

I agree, underfeeding them is not right and not healthy for the ray. If you were to only get fed once every other day, you would not be so healthy either. Its best to feed at least once a day. twice is better in my opinion.

I didnt know the exact size.. Ive only had rays for over a year. and never asked really. I have read some on it, but you never know. Thats why Ive already started on the new 400g pond tanks for my Motoro's Ive decided to dedicate the basement to the rays and my man cave only..

I don't think your tank is big enough. Even if you get a pup- they grow and need space. Wait until you have the right tank.

A 2 ft motoro definitely not, was thinking more up to 10" would be ok in there, then have to upgrade or sell it like you where saying.

Going to need alot more water changes than I was thinking, forgot to convert 350L to gallons, at 92 gallons you would need to do alot of water changes as it grows. If you clear out that bottom i think you'd be ok for a while.

I would wait. I know having a ray is cool, but Id wait till you get the right set up.
One persons opinion though.
