She get´s darker than shown in these pictures, and keeps that way for quite a long time.

No, blue dempseys are in fact a new(ish) breed...AKA EBJD or electric blue jack dempsey. However, they aren't really JD's but a hybrid with the name EBJD.

And, Tongue33, The pic is crap because my camera is crap. The tank has almost 400 watts of light on it and the pics still come out dark.:screwy: I swear, my cell takes better pics. However, that jack was all black with bright blue/green spangels. Actually, he was a very pretty fish. When he died, I got another jack, but my new one is tan...It's just not the same...I miss the black one.

Sorry, EBJD aren´t hibrids. It´s a recessive gene, like people with blue eyes.

Umm okay... Lay off the ack ack gun... They are not a new breed, nor hybrid. They are just offspring of two fish with recessive genes. Your fish was in no way a black JD, even how much you wish to argue it.

no such thing they darken or lighten depending on their mood this thread is worthless

Hmmm...Well...
A. I stood corrected. I had no problem with that. Did you look at the link?

B. I never said that I had "A Black JD". I said I had a JD that was black his whole life. Just adding my personal experience to the discussion. I don't remember meantioning anything about the genetics of my fish.

C. Argue?...:screwy:

D. Thank you for your useless post that covers nothing that hasn't already been covered ( The small amount of useful info that you provided is already in the link i posted. You would have known that if you actually spent more time reading and less time spouting off.).:irked:

Useless info? Yes, a few other members have said what I have said, but I wouldn't call it useless... We are just trying to point out that your fish is in no way a black JD.
