Vegetarian? Not a chance, I was also brought up on a farm, so I feel passionately about animals being kept in the wrong conditions due to ignorance.
And it seem's this forum is full of the ignorant.

You gotta be a fool to think that the amazon stays that temp year around you gotta remember when they toke the data for the graph they get an average for each month so any week or day that it could have dropped in temp was averaged out.

My bad. I went to a science-based Amazon River Hydrology site to get info on temp variations of the amazon. Why didn't I think to go to a travel site to get better info?

He's not even keeping fish FROM the Amazon...

Lol

I think the point here is, with proper precautions in the winter, the op will be fine. Winters are pretty mild in Florida. Sounds like a cool setup.

To op the stock will work great I have housed jags and jd together in a 125 with no problem. Dont let one person who has not ever kept the fish in question or does not even know where they live in the wild. Can't wait for pics and good luck.

I've kept all of those fish together (minus the convicts), plus an oscar and two catfish and never had any problems. I think that stock will work out fine. If you are concerned about the convicts you can always sell them off or bring them to a local club to auction off or something.

I am sure you will be fine for winter as well. Those fish live in the lakes, ponds, canals and everywhere else in FL. Its where I got my jags from, so I don't think you have much to worry about there. Even the water in FL has temp. fluctuations and the fish do fine.

As for temp. fluctuations in the amazon - I am not even sure how that came up but +1 to oddballs post.
