It's a girl!

all you guys can do is try. if people didn't try new things in this hobby we wouldn't be able to keep a lot of the spieces that do.

Karajo, I would put the powerhead on HIS side of the tank!!

If the eggs blow his way, they might just be eaten.

OR, you could put them in together with the screen, when she lays her eggs, remove the screen. Keep nets ready, JUST IN CASE!!

I say you should still try AI. It'd be interesting to try.

Anyways, good luck figuring out a good way!!

I wouldn't remove the screen at all. breeding through a divider shouldn't be a problem at all as long as the holes are large enough for a lot of water to mover through. I would put one on each blowing towards the center.

I would find it too much of a risk to take a divider out though...they could be all fine and dandy, then one minute one takes a chunk out of the other and trying to net two aggressive fish when they are going at it would just be a catastrophe waiting to happen. The eggs could get eaten either way...we would just have to monitor it all closely.

I wouldnt know when to remove the eggs though either if they were getting eaten....How long until you would know they are fertilized?!?! It is basically a trial and error experiment that could or could not work.

that is my exact idea on this. getting her to lay again may be tough though...that and finding a possitively sexed male. can they be blood tested?

either way there will be a divider present.

they can be sexed via DNA!!

I have NO clue where and how to get it done, but I've heard of it being done.

i spoke w/ frank from the site mentioned above. he said there is no way to sex them for sure. DNA has been tried and proved unreliable and very expensive.

well then, that sucks, and we may have to resort to asking nicely and hopefully they'll tell us!!

Well, the only good thing is, we know how to tell if it's a female!! ^_^

I'm sure it's no help, but you know if I had a male, I'd let y'all borrow him...I'd know he was in good hands..^_^

BTW, Jordan, if you continue spoiling her so, she'll keep on laying for you in cycles. But, it's a good idea to giver her a break between cycles. I say keep going and see how long her cycle is. You could provide us all with much-needed Rhom knowledge!! ^_^
