Jag growth thread....

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I now have a 10 gallon full of 4 day old fry./
Im assuming most will die.. and I can raise some up to be juvies. O/w I'd have no idea what to do with all these fish.
My plan is basically to move the half-grown two adults into a 150g and raise the surviving juvies up in a 55

Here's one having breakfast ;)

Nice picture Winston...you may be alright for a few weeks with that 10 gal...that 55 will be a nice tank to grow them out..
I have some hatchlings from what looks like the largest spawn my pair has had yet...not sure what I am going to do with them...Seeing your 4 day old fry and my new 1 day old wriggler makes me again appreciate the amount of growth that takes place to get to a few inches let alone around a foot...
Here are the latest pics from my new ones hatched 3/14/14 and the ones hatched 11/23/13...now 113 days old biggest looks over 3 inches...

tx! I used a 105mm macro to shoot that.
I've been working on shooting the fish..Not easy, as you know.

I have some albums here if you wanna see: http://goo.gl/K0mHtN

Most of what I shot so far has been with available light but most of these were shot with a flash: http://goo.gl/2FSDty
The first ones I did that way.
The difference is striking I thought.. much better depth of field and detail.
Both are cool!

Great shots Winston even better than your first...you can definitely get some good photo documentation of your jags growth.your pair is awesome also...looking forward to seeing them in the 150 which I think will be a good home... mine are in a 120 but I am leaning towards switching them with my midas that is in my 150...I just hate moving big fish around...

Nice pics...Can see the gold on the bellies and also around the eyes on some....check out these of the the day and a half old fry....
