Jaguar cichlid

Hi guys I'm bringing home a a jaguar cichlid tomorrow and I just wanted to put some pictures of her up to see if you all think she's healthy. She looks good to me but never had one before so can't say. I'll be posting updates on her soon

She? Have you vented? Looks healthy, and like a male that hasn't quite found his stride yet with the coloration. Pointed dorsal fin and spots on the lower gill plate looks male to me

What other stock you have where this will go in or will this be solo rider ?

I'd have to agree, looks male. Jags can be deceiving though.

Looks like a male to me. Females will have barring on them.

She is definitely a he , I'm 99% sure of it from looks anyway but any doubts just vent it , the red on the fins doesn't look like colouration to me it could be an injury from before you picked him up (looks like he's knocked it on something)

Ah man okay do you have any suggestions for medicine n such?

Try either aquarium salt or melafix
Melafix is good for open wounds and sores clears it up quickly and it's not harmful to other fish so no treatment tank needed just make sure there's plenty of oxygen and water movement when dosing
