in a way hopefully .... make sure everything is up to pare before you put your kelberi in you tank so that your not doing 60 percent water changes later and then everyone wonders why they get die off... small wild cichla can be a little difficult to handle sometimes.. they do not like ph fluctuation

I should be good. I havent had any water issues since I upgraded my filtration, and I test my water 2-3x a week just out of paranoia. My numbers are very consistant.

Yeah Rapps wild Orinos. Doing very well. Fat and happy as you will see below! Poor quality pics but they are turning a bronze / olive green and gold outlines getting more bold. getting some reds and blues in their fins. Theyve put on about an inch since I got them about a month ago.

Come on man I hope he gets some more in I missed out. And I am in a State where CIchla dont come in at all anymore since my Guy left the scene. I had a choice to make the CIchla or the 350g. Since I am not in this hobby overnight I needed to gat a mid sized tank the 350g. I don't know what size tanks everyone is housing there Cichla in but if it ain't big anyway you are not going to have any of the cichla you get for too long anyway. But I hope that everyone that got in on the REAL STRANGE sort of fire sale good luck with there new cichla and hope that we can hopefully get a breeding pair out of some of these imports. I have been real turned off by the way things are handled surrounding this hobby it is so wierd to me. But Good luck to all that got hooked up nice pick ups.

LOL hes on a diet! I was fattening them up but they are healthy enough now to back off the feedings. He also gets the "lions" share due to his aggression. When its feeding time he literally attacks the other Orino visciously and continues to do so untill it stays down in the bottom corner of the tank and doesnt move. It makes feeding quite difficult sometimes. And if the submissive one does sneak in a mouth full and he sees it, he goes nuts on the attack. You would think hes starving to death but as you can tell, he isnt.

how much were they

Cichla kelberi 3-3.5" 100.00, 4-4.5" 125.00, 5-5.5" 150.00

basically all gone within a few hours

Oliver of Below Water has them listed as well. I'd be highly suspect of what they are until I saw them with their mature coloration.

With kelberi being one of the hottest, most talked about Cichla on the web right now because they are illegal to export from Brazil, isn't it more than a little odd that all of the sudden they start coming in from Brazil at great prices?

This would be like a vendor getting in black rays all of the sudden for $200.
Buyer beware.
