Jumping in

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Oh external gills. They will be absorbed by the body as the poly grows lungs. You have a top on the tank right? Hopefully about an inch between the water surface and the lid. They need warm moist air to help the lungs develop.

Yes I do, currently I'm down about 2 inches. Would that help explain why he was playing in the bubbles made by the air stone?

Side note, could you put red belly perana in the same tank? Or would the perana pick at them even when they are over a foot long? Still debating what else for fish I want to go with them when they grow up. Currently I will have my 3 polyp(till I find more I I like) and my bgk. So I was thinking the perana or maybe some type of shark since I like the looks of them.

No piranha. No ways, red tail sharks will bully polys too in some cases, they have a reputation for being mean to bottom dwellers

yes I agree no to piranha. Same as shark to "picky". If you want something that looks like a shark get a siamensis, just get one that's big enough to not become lunch. They eat algae so they provide benefit to your tank while being really active. Just don't get the false siamensis or flying fox they look alike but end up acting more like their cousin the red tail sharks.

I'm good for algae eats I think, I have 2 bristle nose pleco, and a golden Chinese algae eater

IMG_20171108_185117.jpg I got my tank in finally, and this is my 4 bags of sand just sitting in it. I thought I would ask how I should do it before I poor it in.
I could either fill one side with it or do a line along the front with it.

Rinse the sand in a bucket and just dump it in. Fill tank up amd mobe it around as you see fit. My wavemakers push half the samd to one side in my tank so every so often i rake it over to cover the whole bottom.

Oh yeah the pellet usually get past them. And then they pick them off the ground most times. I'm going to be getting some water sprite off a guy who lives here and from what I have heard that grows fairly fast. I don't think I should have any salt in the tank water, lol my stupid dog got scared by thunder the other week and went and hid under my tank and broke the connector in my hose going out of my canister filter when no one was home, draining most of the tank water out.
Sinking carnivore or get some frozen beef heart mealworms are great
