Sorry, I think my post came off wrong. I wasn't talking about tank size or anything like that. I was talking about people worrying about the price of a fish.
Even if he's only keeping this fish in a 75 gallon, the price of the fish is just a drop in the monetary bucket. What I was getting at is: who cares if an $8 fish was a good deal or not. What's considered a "bad" deal? $20? What's considered a good deal? $5? What's the difference in the long run when the tank cost $500 and you're going through food, chemicals, etc... Like its going out of style?
Essentially: if you want it and can house it, get it (obviously not talking about super expensive rare fish here).
