Getting ready for the new tank and doing the floor. Got the idea to re support floor so I cut it open. Laminated 3/4 plywood glued and screwed spaned from outside wall to basement interior wall. 3 thick on outsides and double on inside also doubled floor thickness. With hardwood should be 2 inch thick. I think should be more then strong enough. What's your guys thoughts?20181008_142140.jpg 20181008_190609.jpg 20181008_190603.jpg 20181008_192935.jpg 20181008_201350.jpg

I had a thought today as I seen a chunk of foam in friends shop. Is it something that is a good idea to put under a tank of this size (96*30*24). I've never used foam before on any previous tanks. But also never had one bigger then a 120g

Are you still buying the tank this topic is about? If not, start a new topic as it will be less confusing to late comers reading it.

Styrofoam should not be necessary under a glass tank unless the mfg. requires it OR the construction is unusual. Acrylic tank mfg.'s may require a styro underneath but again check with them first.

It's paid for and getting built now. Should be delivered before Halloween.

Thanks!! Check with the tank builder to see their recommendations for whether you need to add styro under the tank or not.
