Just picked up my monster tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
AWESOME TANK!! I know the feeling of upgrading from what I considered large at 55 to a 125 gallon tank, amazing feeling!! Also, make sure that shelf above the tank is sturdy and wont fall because if it does....

No worries, that's just where I picked it up from. The tank will be going in my basement with my 90 gallon and 55 gallon. I dont think I'm gonna put cichlids in this tank...I've just never been a huge fan of them. Almost done cleaning the tank and I have it leveled in pretty much to the tee. I picked up three 50 pound bags of corse pool filter sand today. It only cost me $9 bucks a bag so I dont think thats too bad. I just have to rinse it off tomorrow and then that will be going in. Hopefully, it doesn't take too long to settle in because I'd like to fill it up tomorrow and start filtering the tank. I will be updating this thread regularly to show progress. Thanks for the kind words.

Forget the Asian Aro, illegal to own in the US...
go for the Eheim Pro 3.

um when did that start

Well, I'm gonna have to do some measuring when I get home to see if an fx5 will fit inside of the stand doors. If not I'll have to measure the back of the tanks to sit if it would clear from behind, which would suck considering I just got it leveled. If I read correctly it's 16 inches wide by 17 inches tall?

I need to order 2 heaters and I was thinking about going with (2) 200 Watt Ebo Jager heaters or Viso-Stealth. Will this be enough or should I go with (2) 250 Watt heaters? The tank will be in my basement and it gets somewhat chilly down there during the winter, maybe 60-65 degrees.
