I still might be able to save my swords, the salinity will go down, I'm just keeping it higher right now to make sure the ich is gone.

Java ferns would probably be good if it was just the polypterus in my tank but I'm considering adding a couple of my Oscura Heterospilus, I'm pretty sure they'll eat it.

I had Java ferns in with my Vieja/Amphilophus tank I had a couple of years ago, it was as if just the ferns presence pissed them off, they destroyed it lol cichlids man

Idk much about cichlids but its hard to put live plants with fish that eats plant, thats why i stayed away from SD.

Not all cichlids eat plants just read up on them. Look for more carnivorous types. Maight have to get creative though. Sometimes they dig. Annbuias or Java can be tied to DW and shouldn't get bothered much

If you're not enjoying them that much, then your plan seems solid. Taking down a tank - aka less maintenance - might help you enjoy them more.

There are good quality fake plants out there that look nice. And you might luck out and find some that they don't touch. Someone way back told me that they have good luck with hornwort not being eaten by herbivore chichlids. I think it was when I was asking about Synspilum.

I would guess female but it's too small to really say with any certainty. That lap is cool man.

I’m not sure why it’s looking that way on the video, it’s actually Barton garnet sand like J jaws7777 . Maybe it’s the lighting
