Kewpie's Pewpie err Fish

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
They cost more than I'm willing to play with unfortunately. Young kribs are 1/3rd of the price of a sen.

A week or so ago I had to remove my one Polleni as he was terrorizing my female. I put him in my 75 with the argentea, festae and synspilum. One of those 4 beat him up a bit, not too bad. Long story short the Polleni got ich.

Of course I didn't notice the ich until I put my hets, crypts, congo tetras and sens with him.

My question is, do I have to change my standard ich treatment of heat and salt since the polys are in there? Do they even get ich? I've read that a little salt actually helps their colors so I think I'm okay?

Polys will be fine with salt.

Why is Shun Hendre still a tag?

Fixed.

Do polys even get ich? I know they can get some nasty worm like parasite

Probably can but not so easily due to their ganoid scales. They are subject to some other infestations as far as I know

Any responses from someone who knows wtf they're talking about? ;-)

Any fish can get ich polys are more apt to get bichir worms if wc. Sucks about the polleni man. Run heat and salt for a few weeks even after the white spots are not visible as the cysts have a life cycle in the AQ

Well fellas as the great Blues Boy King once sang, the thrill is gone. I've started to seriously downsize, I don't have the will, time or desire to keep up with all of my fish anymore. I've heard stories from other people where downsizing has helped them enjoy the hobby again, I'm hoping that will work with me too.

I found a home for the puffers yesterday- one 55 down. Not sure if I documented this already but I moved the hets out of their 55- one more 55 down. I'm now happily down to a 30, 75 and 90. I'm going to move my JD into the 90, and give away 5 hets. That seems like a reasonable temporary stocking. I'm going to give away my severums, regani, and probably all of my polys.

I'm going to put my main man Buzz (Polleni) and his girl into my 75, along with two Ptychochromis Oligacanthus. I'm debating keeping one of my ornates in there too but probably not. I'll be able to tell when they need an upgrade. Although I'm sad to see some of them go I'm also enormously relieved. Going to rescape the 75 when my polleni get in there.
