Yeah that is BS!! The reason why the people who make these laws on fish is because they dont get all the info about current event like all the farms out there now helping asian arowanas and the wild population. Plus i bet the people making the laws dont even own any fish. So they just dont know the feeling of owning something so nice. If they went back to the courts to allow asian arowanas in the usa it would probably cost money and time and god forbid they go and do that. Peta and all them animal rights groups out there dont help much either they just add to the crap. So thats why this will continue to go on.

buddy, farms do NOT help the wild population. They do NOT add fish back into the wild. All captive bred asian aros from asian farms are ALL in for aquarium trade.

this is true, if they were to release to the wild they will have scientists document every specie dumped into the wild by 30% since the 70% will most likely die. and if this were o happen they are making a change to help legalize this fish!

I don't think there is any point in releasing captive-bred arowanas into the wild unless you can make their habitat a protected sanctuary that will not be polluted or fished.
And BTW, the word "species" is both singular and plural, there is no such word as "specie" ;)

why do you really want to own asian arowanas?

because they are beautiful respected fish with a sort of "collectors value" if you will. Their different types and regal gorgeous color variations make them very appealing, also I'm sure that alot of their appeal comes from the fact that they are illegal to own. I'll admit that I too would kill to be able to own one.

if you want one that bad you can move to canada or any other legal countries. so want to own one just because you treat it as a collectors item?

Dude by there being farms this helps stop people from taking them from the wild. So yes this helps and i never said anything about releasing captive bred ones back into the wild. If they did that it would tant the the wild one and pass on who knows what to them.
