does anyone have one or know where i would look to find one for sale?
they are amazing looking monitors, the bands on them are awesome.
i dont know a whole lot about them but im sure someone on here could help me out.
i dont want to hear any flaming or telling me im stupid to want one and i will never be able to house one. ok? thank you :D
but info is appreciated as well as pics!!!! :D

Good luck finding one, large species semi arboreal 6 ft range you'll need a 12 tall 12 long 6 wide enclosure minimum to house one.

perentie are pure badass. i love argus though.

id just check kingsnake alot.

they do seem very hard to find. im not worried about enclosure size. i will prob be turning our garage into my monitor/tegu room. i just need one awesome monitor to go with my tegu. so it will have 2 big cages on each side and a pond against the back wall.
has anyone here had one? or has?

Read my topic, they are extremely hard to find now and unfornatly they are likely on the brink of extinction in the hobby. If by any means you get your hands on one, they are to rare to just have as a pet, they deserve a real breeding effort.

Awesome idea, but you may have to go with something other than a lace if you plan on housing many species together. Unless the tegu is a full grown male I'd say that the Lace monitor might be a little too dangerous to keep around it. That's just my speculation though. Tegus are a lot bulkier and, I'd imagine a lot stronger than most monitors of equal length, but still... lace monitors are pretty big.

one of my favorites, i really hope a captive population is sustained
Things dont look anywere good. They are VERY far from sustained outside Australia but there is still hope. I recently contacted a person in Britain that has a young copple, he wants to breed them next year fingers crossed.
